Everything you need before or after your ride - coffee, rentals, and a place to reset.

The Nad Al Sheba Cycle Loop is a purpose-built cycling track in Dubai, set on what was once a camel racing track.

Today, it’s one of the city’s most popular cycling spots, offering three loop options ranging from 4km to 8km.

The route runs alongside the Meydan development area, but what defines the ride isn’t the surroundings at ground level - it’s what you see when you look up.

The Burj Khalifa anchors the skyline throughout much of the ride, giving the loop a sense of scale that’s hard to match anywhere else in the UAE.

The Ride Experience

The track is mostly flat, smooth, and easy to follow - making it ideal for all levels.

There are a couple of gentle dips and rises as you pass through underpasses, but nothing technical or overly demanding.

For the most part, this is a rhythm ride:

  • find your pace

  • settle into the loop

  • and build from there

It’s also a surprisingly social environment. Riders regularly check in as they pass, and the whole setup feels safe, open, and well looked after.

Cycling with the Burj Khalifa

This is what makes Nad Al Sheba different.

You’re not deep in the mountains or out in the desert - you’re riding with one of the most recognisable skylines in the world right in front of you.

The Burj Khalifa is visible for much of the loop, and as you ride, it becomes a constant reference point - something to focus on, chase, or simply take in.

It also happens to be the centrepiece of the film Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, and you’ll pass the Meydan Bridge, another filming location from the movie.

A small detail, but one that adds something extra to the ride.

Best Time to Go: Sunrise

If you can, go early.

A sunrise ride here changes the experience completely.

As the light builds, the skyline begins to shift - the Burj Khalifa catching the first light, with the rest of the city slowly coming into view behind it.

It’s quieter, cooler, and just a better way to ride.

Even if you’re not usually an early start person, this is worth setting an alarm for.

Facilities & Practical Tips

Everything is set up to make this an easy ride to plan:

  • Bike rental available on site

  • Café and rest areas

Final Thoughts

If you’re looking to get into cycling in Dubai, this is the place to start.

It’s simple, accessible, and gives you just enough inspiration - whether that’s the skyline, the atmosphere, or just the rhythm of the ride - to keep going a little longer than you planned.

Far from being an impossible mission, it's actually a pretty good way to start your day in Dubai.
