You can always expect a high quality field of players to play at the the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, as it is part of the DP World Tour's play-offs leading into the final showdown the following week in Dubai. The best part about the Championship is Thursday and Friday are free for General Admission fans meaning budgets for your trip can be spent in other areas. Whilst free-entry is available for the first two days, Saturday and Sunday tickets are priced at just AED50 which translates to $13. That's incredible value considering the standards the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship delivers both on and off the course.
If you wanted to enjoy the event in a little more luxury, the DP World Tour's Ticket + option is also a great way to experience Yas Links. Prices start from AED210 ($57) which includes a AED100 ($27) food and drink voucher... not a bad deal at all. The Ticket + platform is situated next to the 9th Green.
Those prices will rise as the current offering is an early-bird ticket price, so a good idea to book now to get the best price and experience one of golf's great tournaments.

Sports Travel Tom's conclusion
Abu Dhabi is a brilliant destination at the best of times, but be there for a major sporting occasion and you won't regret it so it is always worth planning a trip whilst the golf is taking place.
The Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship offers everything from a really entertaining Championship Village full of games, live entertainment and food and beverage and the golf course is wonderful to walk around to catch your favourite players.
Add everything you can do on Yas Island from its hotels, restaurants, bars, theme parks and proximity to the airport into the mix and you'll have a really fulfilling week.
Don't forget to spend a bit of time in the city of Abu Dhabi as well. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is a world wonder and only a 15 minute taxi ride away from Yas Island, the Louvre on Saadiyat Island is not only as impressive as its French counterpart but offers kayak rides around its exterior and the city's endless mangroves are a joy to be immersed in.
My Sports Travel Tom rating is 8/10.
