A practical guide to an incredible Las Vegas sports weekend, with Rafael Nadal at the MGM Slam, NHL ice hockey and rugby league, including dates, tickets and travel tips.

Three days. Three sports. One extraordinary weekend in Las Vegas.

If you're planning a Las Vegas sports weekend in 2027, the final weekend of February offers something special, with Rafael Nadal returning to the tennis court alongside two other major sporting events.

On Friday, the Vegas Golden Knights host the Anaheim Ducks in the NHL. Saturday brings three rugby league matches at Allegiant Stadium. And on Sunday, Nadal headlines the MGM Slam at T-Mobile Arena.

Having travelled to Las Vegas in March 2024 to watch Nadal face Carlos Alcaraz at the Netflix Slam, I know just how memorable a sporting trip to this city can be.

Here's how you could experience all three events in one weekend, including the key ticket dates, official booking links and practical travel advice.

At a Glance: Las Vegas Sports Weekend, 26–28 February 2027

Friday 26 February: Vegas Golden Knights vs Anaheim Ducks, NHL ice hockey at T-Mobile Arena. 6pm local time.

Saturday 27 February: Rugby League Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium, featuring Bradford Bulls vs Leigh Leopards, Melbourne Storm vs Wests Tigers and Parramatta Eels vs Gold Coast Titans. Tickets advertised from US$29, excluding fees. Individual match times to be confirmed.

Location: Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Suggested trip: Arrive on Thursday 25 February or early Friday 26 February and depart Monday 1 March 2027, allowing time for all three sporting events.

Event information checked on 27 October 2026. Ticket prices, availability, schedules and event arrangements can change.

Rafael Nadal Returns to Las Vegas for the MGM Slam 2027

This is the news that makes the whole weekend particularly exciting.

Rafael Nadal, the 22-time Grand Slam champion, will return to the tennis court at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday 28 February 2027.

The event has been announced as his first competitive hard-court appearance since retiring from professional tennis in November 2024.

Importantly, this isn't a return to the ATP Tour. Nadal is taking part in a special exhibition event, with further details of the player lineup and competition format still to be announced.

For tennis fans, though, it's another opportunity to watch one of the game's greatest players in action.

And having watched him play in Vegas before, I can understand the appeal.

How to get MGM Slam 2027 tickets

Tickets will be sold through AXS, the authorised ticketing partner.

Tuesday 27 October 2026, 5pm UK: MGM Rewards and AXS member presales begin.

Thursday 29 October, 10pm Las Vegas time: Presales close, unless allocations sell out earlier. That's 5am on Friday 30 October in the UK.

Friday 30 October 2026, 5pm UK: General ticket sale opens.

Ticket prices: Not yet confirmed.

Official tickets: MGM Slam 2027 on AXS

My ticket tip: If watching Nadal is the main reason for your trip, check the official ticketing page as soon as your eligible sale window opens. I'd also compare seating categories carefully before booking rather than automatically selecting the first available option.

And don't book non-refundable flights purely on the expectation of securing a tennis ticket.

I watched Nadal and Alcaraz at the Netflix Slam in 2024

In March 2024, I travelled from the UK to Las Vegas to attend the Netflix Slam, an exhibition match between Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz.

It was held at the Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay, rather than T-Mobile Arena, which will host the MGM Slam in 2027.

I had originally hoped to buy a ticket for around £80, but by the time I made it through the booking queue, the cheapest option available to me was approximately £180.

I decided to go anyway, and I'm glad I did.

The atmosphere inside the arena was brilliant. Although it was an exhibition, there was plenty of competitive tennis, fantastic shot-making and a real sense that we were watching something special.

Alcaraz eventually won in a deciding match tie-break, but being able to see Nadal play in person was the highlight of my trip.

That experience also taught me something useful about sporting events in Vegas: they can be the centrepiece of a much bigger trip.

And in February 2027, there's an opportunity to combine tennis with two completely different sports.

Friday 26 February: Vegas Golden Knights NHL Ice Hockey

If you're arriving in Las Vegas on Friday, there's an excellent way to start your sporting weekend.

The Vegas Golden Knights host the Anaheim Ducks at T-Mobile Arena on Friday 26 February, with the game scheduled to begin at 6pm local time.

The Golden Knights have become a major part of Las Vegas's sporting identity, bringing professional NHL ice hockey to the city in 2017 and winning the Stanley Cup in 2023.

An NHL game offers a completely different atmosphere from tennis, with fast-paced action, music, entertainment and passionate home supporters.

It's also a particularly convenient addition to this itinerary because the game takes place at the same arena as Nadal's exhibition two days later.

How to get Vegas Golden Knights tickets

Tickets are already listed through the team's official ticketing channels and AXS.

Golden Knights ticket information: Official Vegas Golden Knights website

I haven't established a reliable lowest available ticket price for this particular game, so it's worth comparing sections and the final checkout cost before booking.

My travel tip: If you're flying from the UK, pay particular attention to your Friday arrival time. A delayed international flight, airport formalities and the journey to your hotel could make a 6pm game difficult to reach.

For a more relaxed trip, arriving in Las Vegas on Thursday would be worth considering.

Saturday 27 February: Rugby League Takes Over Allegiant Stadium

Saturday brings another major sporting event, this time at Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders.

The 2027 Rugby League Las Vegas event features three matches combining Australia's NRL with England's Super League.

The confirmed fixtures are:

Bradford Bulls vs Leigh Leopards: Super League.

Melbourne Storm vs Wests Tigers: NRL.

Parramatta Eels vs Gold Coast Titans: NRL.

It's a rare opportunity to watch professional rugby league from two different countries on the same day, inside one of America's most impressive stadiums.

And the ticket prices are an interesting part of the story.

How much are Rugby League Las Vegas 2027 tickets?

The NRL's official website is advertising tickets from US$29, excluding handling fees and other charges.

Tickets are already on sale, although the final cost will depend on seating availability and the category selected.

Official event information: NRL Rugby League Las Vegas 2027

Official stadium information: Allegiant Stadium

For supporters travelling from England, the Super League has identified dedicated seating areas for the two clubs:

  • Bradford Bulls: Sections 143–144.

  • Leigh Leopards: Sections 124–125.

If you're travelling specifically to support either team, it's worth checking the relevant club's ticket information before choosing your seats.

Kick-off times for the individual matches have yet to be confirmed, so allow plenty of time for the event when planning your Saturday.

I've toured Allegiant Stadium, and it's worth seeing

During my 2024 trip, I took a guided tour of Allegiant Stadium.

Even without a match taking place, it's an impressive experience.

The tour included the locker rooms, hospitality spaces, media facilities and pitchside areas, giving me a fascinating look behind the scenes of an NFL stadium.

What struck me was the scale of the place, from its vast interior to the entertainment facilities incorporated into the building.

And although Las Vegas isn't hosting an NFL game that weekend, the rugby league triple-header provides a chance to experience Allegiant Stadium with thousands of fans inside.

For me, that's one of the most appealing parts of this weekend.

Sunday 28 February: Nadal Takes Centre Stage

After Friday's ice hockey and Saturday's rugby league, Sunday brings the headline event.

Rafael Nadal's return to the court at the MGM Slam offers a fitting conclusion to three days of sport in Las Vegas.

The exhibition is being staged at T-Mobile Arena, close to the southern end of the Strip, making it convenient for visitors staying around Park MGM, New York-New York or the surrounding resorts.

The full player lineup, competition format and start time are still to be announced.

If you've travelled specifically to watch Nadal, I'd keep Sunday relatively free rather than committing to another major attraction before the organisers publish the schedule.

And if you haven't visited Las Vegas before, there'll still be plenty to explore between the sporting events.

Why Las Vegas Is Such a Good Destination for Sports Fans

I've written previously about how Las Vegas has transformed itself into one of America's most interesting sports destinations.

For years, the city was associated primarily with casinos, entertainment and nightlife.

Today, it's home to the Raiders in the NFL, the Golden Knights in the NHL, the Las Vegas Aces in the WNBA and one of Formula 1's most distinctive Grand Prix weekends.

There are also regular major boxing, UFC and motorsport events, alongside an expanding calendar of exhibitions and one-off sporting spectacles.

My own 2024 visit demonstrated just how much there is to do.

Alongside the Netflix Slam, I explored the Strip, visited the Neon Museum, watched the NASCAR parade make its way along Las Vegas Boulevard and toured Allegiant Stadium.

I also passed the Formula 1 paddock and pit complex near East Harmon Avenue, a reminder that even outside Grand Prix weekend, motorsport has become part of the city's identity.

The real appeal of Las Vegas is that a sporting event can be the reason to visit without needing to occupy every hour of your trip.

You can watch world-class sport and still find time to explore a city that has built an entire industry around entertaining visitors.

And the February 2027 weekend brings together three very different sporting experiences without needing to travel between cities.

Planning Your Las Vegas Sports Weekend

When should you travel?

For the three-event itinerary, I'd recommend arriving on Thursday 25 February or early Friday 26 February, and leaving on Monday 1 March 2027.

That gives you the best chance of attending all three events without feeling rushed.

Travelling from the UK, remember that Las Vegas is eight hours behind the UK during February, so allow for jet lag and the time needed to settle in.

I'd check the Sunday tennis event time before booking your return flights.

Where should you stay?

For convenience, I'd look at hotels towards the southern half of the Las Vegas Strip.

Park MGM, New York-New York and MGM Grand are worth comparing because of their proximity to T-Mobile Arena.

There are plenty of other options, however, and hotel prices can vary considerably.

On my previous visit, I stayed at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, slightly away from the busiest part of the Strip. I enjoyed the more relaxed setting, although it meant factoring in extra travel time to some attractions.

My advice is to compare the full accommodation cost, including any applicable resort fees, rather than simply looking at the advertised nightly rate.

Getting between the sporting venues

Two of the events are at T-Mobile Arena, while Saturday's rugby league takes place at Allegiant Stadium.

Both venues are in the southern part of Las Vegas, so there's no need to hire a car solely for this itinerary.

However, walking times, road closures and transport arrangements can change significantly around major events.

I'd check each venue's event-day guidance and leave plenty of extra time, particularly for Allegiant Stadium.

What about US entry requirements?

If you're travelling from the UK, check your passport validity and the latest US entry requirements well before departure.

Eligible British passport holders can generally travel to the United States for tourism under the Visa Waiver Program, but you'll normally need an approved ESTA before travelling.

Not everyone qualifies, so check the official requirements rather than assuming an ESTA will be sufficient.

How much will the weekend cost?

At the time of writing, the rugby league organisers are advertising tickets from US$29, while the tennis and NHL ticket costs still need to be confirmed for a realistic complete budget.

You'll also need to allow for international flights, accommodation, local transport, meals and any additional attractions.

I wouldn't describe this as a cheap weekend away from the UK. But for somebody planning a special sports trip, three major events across three days could offer excellent value in terms of the experiences available.

Is a Sporting Weekend in Las Vegas Worth It?

Based on my experience, absolutely.

I went to Las Vegas in 2024 primarily to watch Nadal play Alcaraz at the Netflix Slam, but I came away having enjoyed much more than one tennis match.

The city has become a destination where sport and travel fit together remarkably well.

And if you're considering a trip in February 2027, the combination of Golden Knights ice hockey, a rugby league triple-header and Rafael Nadal's MGM Slam is an opportunity worth investigating.

There are still a few important details to come, particularly the MGM Slam ticket prices and start time. I'll update this guide as further information becomes available.

In the meantime, I'd recommend checking the official ticketing platforms before committing to travel.

Have you ever visited Las Vegas for a sporting event? I'd love to know what you watched and what you'd recommend to other sports fans.
