Ticket Notebook: Sports Ticket Updates for Goodwood, Cricket World Cup & More (6 November 2026)

From Goodwood's 2027 ticket sales opening on Monday to the Cricket World Cup ballot deadline, 12 international ice hockey matches in Glasgow for £80 and Australian Open tickets from A$49, here are five sports ticket updates worth knowing about this week.
Welcome to Sports Travel Tom's Ticket Notebook, my weekly round-up of sports ticket updates, upcoming sales, ballots and booking opportunities from around the world.
Whether you're planning a sporting weekend in the UK or a bigger adventure overseas, knowing when tickets become available can make all the difference.
This week, we're looking at two major British motorsport events, one of the world's biggest cricket tournaments, a surprisingly affordable international ice hockey experience, and two opportunities to start planning sporting trips for 2027.
Let's get into it.
At a Glance: This Week's Sports Ticket Updates
1. Goodwood Festival of Speed & Revival 2027: General ticket sales open Monday 9 November for both events.
2. ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027: The free ticket ballot remains open until 21 November, with the ICC reporting more than 120 million ticket requests.
3. Great Britain International Ice Hockey, Glasgow: Four-day tickets covering 12 international matches are available for £80 for adults. Bundle sales close 17 November.
4. Australian Open 2027: Ground Pass tickets are advertised from A$49, with early-bird pricing ending 30 November.
5. FIFA Women's World Cup 2027: FIFA has updated its ticketing guidance ahead of sales expected towards the end of 2026. Fans can register their interest now.
Ticket information checked Friday 6 November 2026. Prices and availability may change.
1. Goodwood 2027: Festival of Speed and Revival Tickets Go on General Sale Monday
If you enjoy motorsport, Monday is worth putting in your diary.
Tickets for two of Britain's most popular motorsport events, the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival, go on general sale on Monday 9 November 2026.
Both events take place in West Sussex, but they offer very different experiences.
Goodwood Festival of Speed 2027
Dates: Thursday 15–Sunday 18 July 2027
Held in the grounds of Goodwood House, the Festival of Speed brings together remarkable racing cars, motorcycles, famous drivers and motorsport history.
Its famous hillclimb is at the heart of the event, with everything from historic racing machinery to modern Formula 1 cars taking to the course.
But the Festival of Speed isn't just about watching vehicles drive past.
There's an opportunity to get close to some extraordinary cars, explore the paddocks and enjoy a huge celebration of motorsport.
Goodwood Revival 2027
Dates: Friday 17–Sunday 19 September 2027
Goodwood Revival is something completely different.
Held at the historic Goodwood Motor Circuit, it recreates the atmosphere of motorsport's golden era, with classic racing cars, period clothing and a strong sense of nostalgia.
It's not just a racing event. The entire weekend celebrates the style and atmosphere of the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s.
If you're interested in classic cars and traditional motor racing, it's one of the most distinctive sporting events in Britain.
When do tickets go on sale?
General public sale: Monday 9 November 2026.
Goodwood Road Racing Club members and Fellowship members have already had access to earlier booking windows.
Both events now open to the general public on Monday.
Ticket prices vary according to the event, day and ticket category, so check the official booking pages when sales open.
My ticket tip
Before buying, think about which Goodwood experience actually appeals to you.
The Festival of Speed is ideal if you want to see a huge variety of motorsport machinery, famous drivers and modern racing technology.
Revival is more about historic racing, atmosphere and experiencing an event that feels quite unlike any other.
And remember to look beyond the ticket price when planning your trip. Both events attract large crowds, so transport and accommodation deserve some thought too.

2. Cricket World Cup 2027: Free Ticket Ballot Still Open as Demand Passes 120 Million
The ICC Men's Cricket World Cup returns to Africa in 2027, with matches taking place across South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
And if you're hoping to attend, there's an important deadline approaching.
The official ticket ballot closes on Saturday 21 November 2026.
The tournament features 14 teams competing in 57 matches across 12 venues, offering plenty of opportunities to combine world-class cricket with an international trip.
But demand is already enormous.
More than 120 million ticket requests
In an update published on 2 November, the International Cricket Council reported more than 120 million ticket requests from approximately 2.8 million individual fans representing 193 countries.
The UK is among the leading countries submitting applications.
Those figures demonstrate the scale of interest in the tournament, although it's important to distinguish ticket requests from the number of individual applicants.
How does the Cricket World Cup ballot work?
Here's what you need to know.
Ballot deadline: Saturday 21 November 2026.
Closing time: 23:59 South African time, or 21:59 GMT.
Entry cost: Free.
Ticket purchases: No payment is required to enter.
Fans create an account through the official ticketing website, select the matches they're interested in and submit their applications.
You can apply for multiple matches, with each fixture treated as a separate ballot entry.
Successful applicants will be contacted by email and provided with instructions on purchasing tickets.
The ballot is not first-come, first-served. Applying early does not improve your chances compared with another valid application submitted before the deadline.
My ticket tip
I'd recommend looking beyond just the biggest fixtures.
With matches spread across three countries, this tournament offers the opportunity to build a memorable sports travel itinerary around the cricket.
Consider the destination, the stadium and what else you could experience while you're there.
And remember that entering the ballot doesn't guarantee you'll receive tickets.
I'd avoid committing to non-refundable flights or accommodation until you know which matches you've secured.

3. Watch Great Britain Play International Ice Hockey in Glasgow: 12 Matches for £80
Here's something a little different for this week's Ticket Notebook.
Great Britain's men's and women's national ice hockey teams will compete at the same home venue in a competitive international setting for the first time.
And tickets are now on sale for a four-day tournament at Braehead Arena in Glasgow.
The event is part of the IIHF European Cup of Nations and runs from Thursday 11 to Sunday 14 February 2027.
It features 12 international matches across four days, bringing together eight national teams.
For anyone who's never experienced live international ice hockey, this could be a brilliant opportunity.
Who's playing?
Great Britain's men's team will face:
Poland
Romania
Lithuania
Great Britain's women's team will face:
Netherlands
Slovenia
Spain
Both GB teams will be competing at Braehead Arena, alongside matches involving the visiting nations.
The tournament will also feature fan activities and entertainment around the ice hockey.
How much are tickets?
The official Braehead Arena website lists the following prices:
Ticket | Adult | Child | 65+ |
Four-day bundle | £80 | £30 | £80 |
Individual day | £30 | £12 | £27 |
Four-day bundles are on sale now, with a deadline of Tuesday 17 November at 5pm UK time.
The bundle provides entry to all 12 matches, with the same seat reserved throughout the tournament.
The venue also publishes individual day-ticket prices. However, Ice Hockey UK's ticket announcement says day tickets will go on sale once the four-day bundle window closes,.
Why this is an interesting sports travel opportunity
Twelve international matches for £80 works out at approximately £6.67 per match if you attend the entire tournament.
That's very good value for four days of international sport.
And even a single-day ticket at the advertised £30 price offers the opportunity to watch multiple games.
Braehead Arena is in Renfrewshire, just outside central Glasgow, so it's possible to turn the tournament into a short Scottish sporting break.
You could combine the ice hockey with a day exploring Glasgow, its restaurants and other attractions.
My ticket tip
If you're planning to attend more than one day, I'd look seriously at the four-day bundle before the 17 November deadline.
The £80 adult bundle offers a substantial saving compared with purchasing four individual day tickets at £30 each.
Just make sure the match schedule and your travel arrangements suit you before booking.
And if you're only interested in seeing Great Britain play on a particular day, check the fixtures carefully before purchasing an individual day ticket.

4. Australian Open 2027: Ground Pass Tickets From A$49
One of the best ways to experience Grand Slam tennis doesn't necessarily involve buying an expensive ticket for a show court.
The Australian Open returns to Melbourne Park from 11–31 January 2027, and Ground Pass tickets are being advertised from A$49.
That's the early-bird starting price, with the promotional period scheduled to end on 30 November 2026.
For tennis fans planning a holiday in Australia, it's an opportunity worth considering.
What does an Australian Open Ground Pass include?
A Ground Pass allows you to explore Melbourne Park and experience the tournament beyond the main show courts.
Depending on the day and tournament schedule, this can include access to outside courts, practice areas, the wider tournament precinct and entertainment.
It's a completely different experience from spending the entire day in one reserved stadium seat.
You can move around, discover players you might not normally watch and soak up the atmosphere of a Grand Slam.
And that's part of the appeal.
How much are Australian Open tickets?
Ground Pass early-bird price: From A$49.
Early-bird deadline: Monday 30 November 2026.
Official ticketing partner: Ticketmaster Australia.
Tennis Australia has confirmed that early-bird pricing applies until 12:59pm Melbourne time on 30 November.
The organisers have also introduced daily capacity limits for Ground Passes, so some dates may sell out.
Remember that the advertised A$49 is a starting price, not a guarantee that every Ground Pass or date will cost the same.
My ticket tip
I'd particularly consider a Ground Pass during the opening part of the tournament, when there can be plenty happening across the outside courts.
But don't assume the cheapest pass includes reserved seating in Rod Laver Arena or Margaret Court Arena. Those require separate tickets.
Check the session and court access included before buying.
And if the Australian Open is part of a longer holiday, Melbourne offers plenty of opportunities to combine your tennis experience with exploring the city and surrounding region.

5. Women's World Cup 2027: FIFA Opens Ticket Interest Registration for Brazil
Finally, there's an important planning opportunity for football supporters looking ahead to the next FIFA Women's World Cup.
The tournament takes place in Brazil from 24 June to 25 July 2027, with 32 national teams competing for the trophy.
FIFA has updated its official ticketing guidance, including information on how supporters can register their interest ahead of ticket sales.
When do Women's World Cup 2027 tickets go on sale?
FIFA currently says that ticket sales are expected to begin towards the end of 2026.
However, the exact dates, ticket prices and purchasing arrangements have not yet been confirmed.
So this is not a ticket sale opening today.
Instead, it's an opportunity to register early and make sure you're following the official process when sales are announced.
How do you register?
Visit FIFA's official ticketing website and register your interest in the Women's World Cup.
FIFA also recommends creating a FIFA ID before the ticket sales begin.
There will be multiple ticket sales phases, potentially involving different purchasing processes and ticket categories.
Registering your interest does not guarantee tickets, but it gives you a way to receive information when further announcements are made.
Why Brazil could be a fantastic sports travel destination
A World Cup in Brazil offers much more than the football alone.
For travelling supporters, there's the opportunity to combine international matches with some of South America's most recognisable cities, landscapes and cultural experiences.
With the tournament taking place over a month, there should be different ways to plan a trip depending on which cities and matches you want to attend.
But I'd hold off making firm plans until FIFA confirms the full ticketing arrangements and you know which matches you're targeting.
My ticket tip
Register your interest now and create your FIFA ID if you don't already have one.
Then keep an eye on official FIFA announcements for the first confirmed ticket-sale dates.
Don't purchase supposed Women's World Cup 2027 tickets through unofficial sellers while FIFA's public sales process has yet to begin.

Is It Worth Planning Ahead? Final Thoughts
This week's Ticket Notebook is a good example of why keeping an eye on ticket announcements can make such a difference.
Some opportunities are immediately actionable.
Goodwood's general sale begins on Monday, the Cricket World Cup ballot has a definite closing date, and Glasgow's ice hockey tournament has a limited-time bundle offer.
Others, like the Australian Open and Women's World Cup, give you a chance to prepare for a bigger international trip.
And that's what I want Ticket Notebook to help with.
Finding sporting experiences you might not otherwise have considered, understanding the booking process and knowing when you need to act.
I'll be back next Friday with five more ticket updates, including newly announced opportunities, upcoming sale windows and useful prices worth knowing about.
And if there's a sporting event you think I should be following, let me know.
I'm Sports Travel Tom, helping you travel better for sport & adventure.
